Meet Guenson
About Guenson
Guenson came to CHOAIDS in August 2014 at six years old. Raised by his grandmother and mother in Cité Soleil, Guenson barely had any food. After his mother died, his father, though not involved in his life, was in prison. Guenson has physical and developmental challenges that make him one of the few residents who will be in our care for the long term.
In addition to HIV disease, Guenson came to CHOAIDS with drug-resistant tuberculosis, which led him to hospitalization and being on medications long after returning to the orphanage. Despite everything, Guenson smiles and dreams big, embodying resilience and hope. He wants to become a singer.
