My Story
Dr. Yaacov Petscher first encountered CHOAIDS at Four Oaks Community Church, where he serves as an elder. He has a passion for service and stewardship, especially when it comes to the Biblical mandate “to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune”. Dr. Petscher is an Associate Dean for Research, Professor of Social Work, and an Associate Director at the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University. He and his wife Erin have been married for nearly 20 years. Both are cancer survivors and parents to Abigail, Naomi, and Teddy. Yaacov enjoys cooking with his kids and watching the occasional NBA matchup in his free time.
