About Mackenzie
Mackenzie is a 15-year-old girl who arrived at CHOAIDS from the Papillon Orphanage in Delmas 33, where she had lived since the age of ten… After the orphanage closed in 2023, they arranged for Mackenzie to live nearby since she didn’t know her parents. However, the person responsible for her care left the country, and with the help of a social worker at the Petit Frères et Soeurs Hospital, they found a safe and caring place for Mackenzie to live. On Monday, August 5, 2024, Mackenzie traveled by bus to Cap-Haitien to join her new family.
Mackenzie is one of the few children we’ve had who received a proper education for her age. While in our care, she will start 10th grade and dreams of studying law in the future.
