Meet Wood-mael Lamarre

Wood-Mael lived with her mother, a teenager who struggled to provide for her because her father had abandoned them. When her stepfather moved in, he refused to care for Wood-
Mael, causing strain in the household. Faced with a difficult decision, Wood-Mael’s mother,
reluctant to ask her husband to leave due to their shared child, ultimately had to abandon Wood-Mael. However, after discussions with members of GCH hospital, she decided to seek assistance in finding a safe place for Wood-Mael. In April 2021, Wood-Mael found refuge in our home.
