Meet Dieudonne

Dieudonne was nine years old when she came to CHOAIDS in March 2018. According to conversations with her mother, Dieudonne contracted HIV from the midwife who assisted her mother during the birthing process since the mother did not have HIV, and no sexual abuse was suspected. Although her mother, who has worked for CHOAIDS for five years, cares for her other children, she has not yet shared Dieudonne’s medical condition with her family, fearing discrimination.

Today, fourteen-year-old Dieudonne has blossomed into a young girl deeply engaged in CHOAIDS life. She is an exceptional sewer who is involved in sewing projects. She loves school and wants to be a pastry chef when she grows up.
