Meet Anaicat Bruno

Thirteen-year-old Anaicat joined us in December 2016 from Cité Soleil, one of the most dangerous slums in Port-au-Prince. She has never met her biological parents and was raised by her maternal aunt. When her aunt learned about Anaicat’s HIV status, she faced isolation from her neighbors due to HIV discrimination. To protect her family, her aunt found a safe place for Anaicat to live. Anaicat has not seen her aunt since becoming part of the CHOAIDS family, yet she is among the most emotionally centered youngsters at the orphanage. As one of our bright 13-year-olds with a keen interest in the sewing project, Anaicat loves to draw. However, she sees herself as a medical doctor caring for all people.
