CHOAIDS LETTER - MAY 15, 2005
Dear Friends,
To begin, I would like to thank you for praying for my safety during my stay in Haiti. I can truly say if it were not for God I would probably not made it out alive. The struggles of Haiti’s people are more prominent than ever. Violence is so rampant; it makes lack of food, safe water, decent housing and unsanitary living conditions the least of Haiti’s problems. I also would like to bring along salutations and many thanks from the children whom you are helping to support. Their lives are truly made better with your prayers and financial support. Currently, we house and provide care for four children: Christasha, 5, Christelle, 61/2, Clara, 8 and Ernso 11. Since we opened our doors last year we have had a total of seven children. I will provide all the house details, my experiences at the Grace Children’s Hospital, and some of our struggles on our second newsletter which will be coming out next month.
Some of you have asked me if the organization has already obtained its non-profit status. The answer to this question is not yet. I have registered the organization with the State of Florida and obtained an Employee Identification Number (EIN) with the federal government, but not the non-profit status. Early next, My Pastor, Rev. Lequita Porter, of Kingdom Bible Christian Church, and I will be working on the non-profit papers. I will notify you immediately once the non-profit status is established.
Friends, if it were not for your generous hearts I would not have been able to help these children. Please continue to give whenever you can, because these children depend on your financial gifts to survive.
Your sister in Christ,
Marie F. Denis
